It?s time again for the tenth installment of the weekly Mallards update. Once again, the Mallards had all of their returning players and some first year players in action for their respective teams. Be sure to check out the rosters link on our home page to follow the players and their teams. Here are some of the stand out performances this past weekend.

Right-handed pitcher Adam Mills (5-2) made his eleventh start of the season for UNC-Charlotte on Sunday. He went seven innings allowing one run, while striking out a career-high 12 batters. Mills ended up getting the win over St. Joseph?s University, 11-1.

Mill?s teammate Kris Rochelle had a solid weekend for the 49ers as well. In three games Rochelle went five for 12 with two runs and three RBI. The contributions from Mills and Rochelle helped the UNC-Charlotte take two of three games from St. Joe?s. The 49ers have an overall record of 24-12-1.

Right-handed pitcher Mike Creevy (3-6) made his ninth start of the season for Xavier on Saturday. He went 8 2/3 innings, allowing three runs while striking out five. Creevy and the Musketeers held off St. Louis 8-7.

Infielder Dan Melvin started all three games for Maryland over the weekend. He went a combined five for 10 with two runs and four RBI. Melvin has started all 38 games for the Terps this season and currently leads the team with a .341 batting average. Maryland travels to Wake Forest for a three game series next weekend.

Outfielder Ryan Basham started all four games for Michigan State over the weekend. He went a combined 10 for 15 with four walks, five runs and six RBI. Basham has started 30 games for the Spartans this season and leads the team with a .374 batting average.

Outfielder Tommy Lentz started all three games for Winthrop over the weekend. He went a combined seven for 16 with three runs and six RBI. Lentz is batting .413 for the Eagles who are 29-10 overall and ranked 23rd in the nation by Baseball America.
