The Wisconsin Woodchucks outlasted the Madison Mallards to win game two of the Northwoods League South Division Championship 5-4 at the Duck Pond in Madison. The series is now even at one and the final game of the series will be played Tuesday, August 12th in Wausau. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Lead-off hitter Ben Zobrist was three for five with three runs scored to pace the Woodchucks. Wisconsin scored one run in each of the first three innings and then added a pair in the fourth to take a demanding 5-1 advantage. The Mallards answered scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth to narrow the deficit to 5-4. However, that is all the Mallards could get going as they were shutout for the final five innings of the contest. Bryan Gale pitched one and one third scoreless innings to pick up the win for Wisconsin. Starter Corey Cabral allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings of work to record the loss
