With the playoff picture coming into focus, the Mallards will be battling the Eau Claire Express for the final berth in the 2007 Northwoods League postseason.

A potential playoff appearance by the Mallards would mean up to three more games of College Summer League Baseball at the Duck Pond, and tickets are now being sold to the general public. All ticket prices will increase by one dollar for the playoffs.

As Madison stands one half-game ahead of Eau Claire, the teams will decide their playoff fates on the final series of the regular season, Aug. 11-12.

Assuming the Mallards can keep winning ways alive, they will host up to three more games at home. To ensure a playoff berth, the Mallards must win two out of three of their remaining games because of the canceled game against Mankato. If the Mallards win tonight, they must still split with Eau Claire, regardless of the Express’ outcome in Alexandria Friday.

Fans will be refunded for any games that are not played.

Great seats are still available for this weekend’s remaining three games and can be purchased and printed by visiting Mallardsbaseball.com or by calling the ticket office at 246.4277.
