Mommy of the Month

Is your mom the heart of your baseball or softball family? Does she show up, cheer loud, and keep everything running smoothly? We want to celebrate her.

The Northwoods League is recognizing outstanding moms throughout the season. If you know a baseball or softball mom who deserves the spotlight—whether she’s cheering from the stands, driving to every game, or simply believing in her player—nominate her today.

Fill out the nomination form below. Each month during the season, we’ll recognize one incredible mom on the Northwoods League website and social media accounts.

Thanks to Modern Woodmen of America, the Mommy of the Month will receive:

Recognition on the Northwoods League website and social media accounts;

When?

One mom will be selected per month during the 2026 Northwoods League season.

July winner: Stephanie Moreno

I believe Stephanie Moreno should be selected as softball mom of the month because of her loving and motherly character towards every and all of mine and my sisters’ teammates over the years. Playing for the Madison Mallards over the last 5 summers (21-25) and now my sister starting with the Madison Nightmares (25-pres.) has been nothing short of chaotic, especially with how busy us players can get. Stephanie, my mom, has been nothing but supportive and encouraging to every team since I started on top of taking care of my sister and I. While showing up to any and every game her schedule allows her to, she builds relationships in short times such as the autograph line after games and gets laughs and smiles out of everyone, players and fans. She loves having players from the team at her house whenever me or my sister brings teammates over. She’s become a second mother to many. This summer she will be hosting two Madison Nightmares: Luci Moreno (Pitt) and Amari Braden (Pitt). Her excitement and care for each team and player’s individually has never faded! She sets an amazing example for host mothers around her.

June winner: Nicole Hallman

Her name is Nicole Hallman, and she is, without question, the loudest and biggest fan our family has ever had. For years she’s been the heartbeat of every season — the voice you hear over the whole ballpark, the one keeping GameChanger so every at-bat and every call was logged, the mom who never missed a moment. Now our son is umpiring in the Northwoods League, chasing his dream hundreds of miles from home, and Nicole is still all in. In fact, we’re about to surprise him on the road just to see him work a game — because that’s who she is. She shows up. She believes. She loves her kids louder than anyone in the stands. If anyone deserves to be celebrated as Mommy of the Month, it’s Nicole.
