Gaedele Goes Off
Kyle Gaedele (Valparaiso) led the Madison Mallards to victory Saturday night over the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Gaedele was 4-for-6 with two runs scored, a RBI and a walk. Gaedele is currently hitting .322 in 35 games with 13 extra base hits. Rafael Lopez (Florida State) also had a great day at the plate going 2-for-6 with five RBI and two runs scored for the Mallards.
Graham Can Do It All
J.R. Graham (Santa Clara) of the Madison Mallards earned the win and had the game winning hit against the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Friday night. Graham threw a scorless tenth inning to earn the win and drove in Kyle Gaedele with the game winning RBI. Josef Terry of Rochester had a four hit performance against the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
Roliard Rakes in Runs
Kyle Roliard (Louisiana Tech) had a great night at the plate for the Duluth Huskies. His four hits helped the Huskies beat the Rochester Honkers by a score of 11-7 at Mayo Field in Rochester. Roliard ended the game at 4-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI. He doubled and also had a homerun in the game. Roliard is hitting .264 in 87 at bats for the Huskies and has six extra base hits on the year.
Aplin Makes Impact
Andrew Aplin (Arizona State) played his first game in for the St. Cloud River Bats this season and had made his presence known. Aplin was 2-for-4 with a homerun, two runs scored and three RBI. He and his Sun Devil teammates were recently at the NCAA College World Series. He hit .337 this season in 41 games played for ASU. Cody Asche (Nebraska) led the Duluth Huskies to victory over the Rochester Honkers by a score of 8-5.
Scott Strikes Twice
Troy Scott (Washington) was instrumental in beating the Wisconsin Woodchucks Tuesday night by a score of 13-6. The Green Bay Bullfrogs first baseman was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and five RBI. His two hits were both home runs which moved his season total to four home runs. He is currently hitting .373 with 15 RBI in 21 games. Kevin Pillar had a nice game in the loss for the ‘Chucks going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Kuhn Has 3 Hit Performance
Collin Kuhn (Arkansas) had a big day at the plate on Monday night for the Green Bay Bullfrogs. Kuhn helped the Bullfrogs beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 12-6 in extra innings. Kuhn, a Beaver Dam, WI native, was 3-for-5 on the night with two runs scored and two RBI. Kuhn hit his third double of the season and also was hit by a pitched and walked. Kuhn is currently hitting .286 in only five games this season. Kuhn hit .336 for the Arkansas Razorbacks this season and led them to a 43-21 record. He was 17-19 on stolen bases and was second on the team with 16 homeruns.
Jirschele Has Huge Day
Justin Jirschele (Wisconsin Stevens Point) had a great day at the plate for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The Rafters beat the La Crosse Loggers by a score of 4-3 in front of 837 fans. Jirschele was 3-for-5 on the night with two runs scored and eventually scored the game’s winning run in walk-off fashion. The second baseman is the first Rafter to win the game in walk-off fashion in franchise history.
Tanis Does It All
Jake Tanis (Mercer) had a four hit night for the Alexandria Beetles Saturday against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. Tanis was 4-for-5 on the night with one run scored and one RBI. Also, two of his hits were doubles. Tanis is currently hitting .360 for the Beetles this season. In 2010 for Mercer, Tanis hit .388 in 62 games with 25 doubles and 22 home runs. Mark Threlkeld (Louisiana Tech) was 3-for-4 on the night with one run scored and three RBI in the win for the Duluth Huskies.
Honeycutt Hits 1st Homer
Thunder Bay catcher Taylor Honeycutt (Wingate) had a perfect day at the plate on Friday night against the Alexandria Beetles. Honeycutt was 3-for-3 with one run scored and three RBI. The North Carolina native hit his first home run of the season to help the Border Cats beat the Beetles 6-1. Tommy Reyes (Cal Irvine) of the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers was 4-for-4 in a losing effort against the Duluth Huskies.
Perfect Night for Smith
Jordan Smith (St. Cloud State) had a perfect day at the plate on Thursday night going 5-for-5. Smith helped beat the Rochester Honkers by a score of 10-4 at Mayo Field in Rochester. The Willmar native scored three runs and had an RBI to go with. Smith is now leading the NWL in average at .436 and second in RBI with 25. Zeke DeVoss (Miami) also had a big night going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBI for Duluth.

Riggins An RBI Machine
Harold Riggins (NC State) put on a show Wednesday night at the ‘Duck Pond’ in Madison. The first basemen helped the Mallards beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 11-1. Riggins was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. Riggins hit his third home run of the season and also reached base on a hit-by-pitch. Riggins is currently hitting .370 in eleven games.
Dittman Goes Deep…Twice
Matt Dittman (Illinois) had a huge day at the plate for the Rochester Honkers on Tuesday night. The first basemen helped the Honkers beat the Willmar Stingers 12-4. Dittman hit his sixth double of the season, but also hit his 2nd and 3rd home runs of the season. He ended the night 3-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBI. He is currently hitting .333 for the Honkers with 20 RBI in only 21 games played.
