The Pit Spitters announced on Monday, February 17th, 2025, that Turtle Creek Stadium would be a cashless venue beginning with the 2025 season. The Pit Spitters join the growing number Northern Michigan venues and businesses in using credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payments only.

On this page you will find the most frequently asked questions from fans to date. And while we don’t have all the answers yet, we do know that all the fun, community, and experiences await you at Turtle Creek Stadium.

If you have a question that is not addressed on this page, please send it to info@pitspitters.com, and we will work to get you a response as soon as possible.

Q: Why is Turtle Creek Stadium now cashless?

A: We want our transactions to be faster, more convenient, and more secure. Touchless, or almost completely touchless transactions, will make lines faster and will free up more of our staff to help in other places. Occasionally, fans often lose a wallet or purse during a game with cash inside. Using debit, credit, and being touchless will be more secure by allowing you to leave cash at home.

Q: What’s behind the decision to move to cashless transactions?

A: We began the transition to touchless payments throughout much of the 2023-2024 seasons. We saw lots of other ballparks and venues doing it well and bringing the speed, convenience and security to their fanbase. During that season, we observed most fans used the cashless option. Even locations in the ballpark accepting cash were used primarily by fans with a credit card. Over 82% of purchases made in 2024 at Turtle Creek Stadium were made using cashless payments.

Q: Is the whole ballpark cashless?

A: Yes, all areas of the ballpark will be cashless including parking, concessions, the Pit Shop retail store, the Turtle Creek Stadium Box Office, hospitality decks, and the Fox Motors Den seating areas as well as off season purchases.

Q: I don’t have a debit card. I’ve used only cash for years. I guess I can’t go to the ballpark.

A: Sure you can! Bring your cash and we will give you a payment card option you can use anywhere in the ballpark. We will have areas where fans can convert their cash into a card available for use inside and outside the stadium. We will also absorb the transaction fees, so it’s at no additional cost to our fans to use a card.

Q: What about parking? How will I get into the ballpark if I can’t use my cash for parking?

A: We are working on a few options for that opportunity. First, and most likely, you will be able to exchange your cash for VISA cards on site at our parking entrances. We will work diligently to inform our fans ahead of arriving at the ballpark, to ease potential congestion at parking lot entrances.

Q: I only go to one game a year. What if I don’t spend what is on my card – will you give me my money back?

A: We will not be refunding any cash for an unused card; however, the pre-paid cards can be used anywhere that VISA cards are accepted. As a reminder, there will be no transaction fees passed off to our fans.
