Joe has been the driving force behind acquiring the ballpark and bringing a Northwoods League franchise to Traverse City. As CEO and Managing Member of TC Baseball LLC, Joe was instrumental, along with Whitecaps cofounders Lew Chamberlin and Denny Baxter, in cultivating a group of community minded investors who saw the value this venue and this franchise could bring to Traverse City and the region. In his current role with the West Michigan Whitecaps Joe will have responsibility for the Traverse City franchise, and with the support of the Whitecaps organization, will provide strategic oversight and direction.

Joe is native to Grand Rapids and currently resides in Cascade with his wife Dana and their two boys Crawford and Becker. Familiar with Traverse City and the surrounding area Joe and his family spend as much time as possible at their cottage in Omena, Michigan. Active in the community Joe currently serves as a board member for both the Whitecaps Community Foundation and the Lake Michigan Academy.

Mickey has spent his entire working life in Minor League Baseball with the last 19 years working for the West Michigan Whitecaps as their Director of Marketing and Media. In his time there, the team won numerous awards including the McPhail Award for best overall team promotions in Minor League Baseball and Minor League Promotions of the Year four times. Many of the team’s promotions garnered national attention. Before working in West Michigan, Graham worked for three years in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and one year in Durham, North Carolina.

Mickey is a native of Columbus, OH and a graduate of Wittenberg University. When he’s not at the ballpark he’s either enjoying the outdoors or catching a live music show. About a decade ago. he caught the traveling bug and has since traveled to several countries and six continents. He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro run with the Bulls in Pamplona and has seen the Rolling Stones perform in Havana.

Sam joined the Pit Spitters’ staff in October 2019 and is entering his second season as the Director of Sales in 2021. Before joining the Pit Spitters, Sam spent six seasons working in different sales roles in Minor League Baseball with the West Michigan Whitecaps, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Peoria Chiefs and Fort Wayne TinCaps. Sam was born and raised in Beer City USA, Grand Rapids, MI, and is an avid sports fan. He attended Aquinas College where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Sport Management while also competing on the varsity baseball team.

When he is not at the ballpark, you can usually find Sam hanging out with his wife, Sarah, enjoying a drink at a local brewery, or cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Sam is excited to continue to grow as the member of the Traverse City community as he and the rest of the Pit Spitters staff continue to bring affordable, fun, family-friendly entertainment to Northern Michigan! Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit, Ian graduated from Central Michigan University, the Harvard of the Midwest, with a degree in Sport Management and Marketing. The Wyandotte, Michigan native loves Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, not much into health food but is into champagne. Spends most of his time with the office dog Lucy, listening to 60’s and 70’s music, watching films with the subtitles on, and taking couch naps. This is Ian’s 3rd year with the Pit Spitters, his 2nd as the Box Office & Ticket Sales Coordinator and he can’t wait to create more fun and exciting experiences for the Northern Michigan community! 


Rickey is entering his 5th season in Minor League Baseball. Originally from Warren, Michigan, Rickey began his career as a Box Office Intern with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters before graduating from Northwood University in 2018. From there, he joined the Great Lakes Loons as a Group Sales Coordinator and in March 2021 began his role as Ticket & Sponsorship Sales Consultant for the Pit Spitters. In his free time, Rickey enjoys cooking, traveling, and sports betting… responsibly. He lives his life by the motto that his Father instilled in him, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.” 



Kendall graduated from and played baseball for The University of Michigan. After graduating with a Bachelors in General Studies degree in 2015, he went on to play professionally for the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Independent Frontier League through the 2018 season. He spent his four off-seasons working in building services in accounts across the state of Michigan.

As an avid outdoorsman, Kendall enjoys fishing the lakes of northern Michigan and returning to his home state of South Dakota in the fall to hunt pheasants and other upland game.



Katie joins the Pit Spitters with over 19 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. She started her career with West Michigan Whitecaps in 2010, at a professional level, where she held various roles including Assistant Food and Beverage Manager and Food and Beverage Manager. After the Whitecaps, Katie joined Professional Sports Catering as the Operation Director for the Fresno Grizzlies in California. She then relocated back to Grand Rapids and served as the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at the John Ball Zoo. When Katie isn’t work (which isn’t often) she enjoys hanging out with friends and family and exploring the local community. She lives in Traverse City with her significant other, Laura and dog, Jack.




PIC COMING SOON A true nomad, the Ortonville, Michigan native joins us as the commencement of her West Coast tour brings her back East. Previously she has worked for several MLB teams , including the Diamondbacks, Dodgers, White Sox, Brewers, and Athletics, where she embodied being a “Jill of all trades.” Before that she worked at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, terrorizing every Buckeye fan she met. Her most recent work includes a marketing campaign for the Phoenix Suns as well as a few freelance production stints with ESPN. The Arizona State University graduate thrives in chaos as a creative menace who is fueled by caffeine and ‘90s music. Passionate about trending pop culture, rooftop happy hours, holidays, and her two kitties, Binx and Boo, the 2021 Pit Spitters intern returns to #DefendTheNorth, adding a little bit of spice wherever she goes.
In her free time Hannah enjoys perusing the isles of Target, collecting frequent flyer miles, and petting every dog she sees.



Linda was born and raised downstate, near the Detroit area. Her passion for sports led her to work for the Detroit Grand Prix Association, in connection with the Indy Racing League, for ten years before she moved to Traverse City. Linda also worked for the University of Michigan, at the Big House in Ann Arbor, for over five years. She came to work for the Pit Spitters in 2019 in our box office during our inaugural season. She  was then hired as our Office Coordinator in December of that same year. In her free time Linda enjoys watching sports, hiking, and being with her family.
