Joe has been the driving force behind acquiring the ballpark and bringing a Northwoods League franchise to Traverse City. As CEO and Managing Member of TC Baseball LLC, Joe was instrumental, along with Whitecaps cofounders Lew Chamberlin and Denny Baxter, in cultivating a group of community minded investors who saw the value this venue and this franchise could bring to Traverse City and the region. In his current role with the West Michigan Whitecaps Joe will have responsibility for the Traverse City franchise, and with the support of the Whitecaps organization, will provide strategic oversight and direction.

Joe is native to Grand Rapids and currently resides in Cascade with his wife Dana and their two boys Crawford and Becker. Familiar with Traverse City and the surrounding area Joe and his family spend as much time as possible at their cottage in Omena, Michigan. Active in the community Joe currently serves as a board member for both the Whitecaps Community Foundation and the Lake Michigan Academy.

Mickey has spent his entire working life in Minor League Baseball with the last 19 years working for the West Michigan Whitecaps as their Director of Marketing and Media. In his time there, the team won numerous awards including the McPhail Award for best overall team promotions in Minor League Baseball and Minor League Promotions of the Year four times. Many of the team’s promotions garnered national attention. Before working in West Michigan, Graham worked for three years in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and one year in Durham, North Carolina.

Mickey is a native of Columbus, OH and a graduate of Wittenberg University. When he’s not at the ballpark he’s either enjoying the outdoors or catching a live music show. About a decade ago. he caught the traveling bug and has since traveled to several countries and six continents. He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro run with the Bulls in Pamplona and has seen the Rolling Stones perform in Havana.


A resident of Traverse City, Parker is a 22-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry who servers in an advisory capacity for the Pit Spitters this season. His main focus is to develop sales and marketing strategies in the areas of corporate partnerships, ticket sales and community relationships. He will also lead the effort to find a new ballpark naming rights. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Sports Management and Communications.

Riley graduated from Northwood University majoring in Entertainment and Sports Management. She interned with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their Events and Entertainment Department and worked for the West Michigan Whitecaps for 7 seasons in various roles.

In her spare time, she loves being out on the water, hiking trails, hitting the golf course and jamming out to whatever is on the radio.

Britani graduated from Central Michigan University earning a bachelors degree in Sport Management with a double minor in Management and Athletic Coaching. She interned with the Chicago Bandits Professional Softball team in their Game-Day Operations department, was the team manager for the CMU Softball program and also spent one year in New York City working for the Madison Square Garden Company as a Sales Representative focusing on generating revenue for the New York Knicks, Rangers and Liberty. This past season, Britani was also the Director of Promotions and Special Events for the Traverse City Beach Bums. In her spare time, she loves to hang out with her family and friends. She also loves to play softball and watch her New England Patriots and Detroit Red Wings!

Tyler is entering his 8th season in minor league baseball. Last season, he worked for the Augusta GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants Single A Affiliate) after working at Watkins Glen International Raceway in 2017. Tyler started working in baseball at The West Michigan Whitecaps. He has a degree in Business Management and Administration from Ferris State University. He is a native of Rockford, Michigan and enjoys going home to spend time outdoors in the fall.

Sam joined the Pit Spitters’ staff in October 2019 as the Director of Sales. Sam has spent the past six seasons working in different sales roles in Minor League Baseball with the West Michigan Whitecaps, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Peoria Chiefs and Fort Wayne TinCaps. Sam was born and raised in Beer City USA, Grand Rapids, MI, and is an avid sports fan. He attended Aquinas College where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Sport Management while also competing on the varsity baseball team. When he is not at the ballpark, you can usually find Sam hanging out with his wife, Sarah, or cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He is excited to be a part of the fun that the Pit Spitters bring to Northern Michigan and can’t wait to begin interacting with our fans throughout our community.

Morgan graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Event Management and a minor in Communication. She started her internship at The DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids and was hired on as their Event Coordinator and Box Office Manager. Morgan appreciates seeing people experience life fully through the lens of community activities and involvement and is very excited to get to do that for a living. In her spare time she spends time outside and on the water, listening and playing music, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Patrick graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2015 with a bachelors degree in Sport Management with a minor in Marketing. Patrick interned with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in 2017 and received a full time position with the team in 2018 where he managed Season Ticket, Mini plan sales, Ticket Operations and Merchandising and assisted with the rebranding of the team to the Rocky Mountain Vibes. Patrick is a native of Midland, MI and in his spare time he enjoys fishing, hiking, watching and playing sports, and video games.

Kendall graduated from and played baseball for The University of Michigan. After graduating with a Bachelors in General Studies degree in 2015, he went on to play professionally for the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Independent Frontier League through the 2018 season. He spent his four off-seasons working in building services in accounts across the state of Michigan.

As an avid outdoorsman, Kendall enjoys fishing the lakes of northern Michigan and returning to his home state of South Dakota in the fall to hunt pheasants and other upland game.
