Mankato, Minn.- The Stingers fell short today in a 4-3 walk off loss that ended in extra innings. The walk off hit came in the bottom of the tenth inning on a double with nobody out off the bat of Jake Shepski (Xavier).

Overall it was a well played game from both teams. Willmar had clutch hits from Caleb Ricca (Northwestern State) and Matt Malkin (Alabma). The most important hit for Willmar however came in the top of the ninth inning with one out and Calvin Estrada (Long Beach St) at second base. Jaxon Hallmark (Nebraska) doubled tying the game up at three in the ninth.

Before the double Ben Mora (Cal Poly Pomona) was fantastic out of the pen, going 3 shutout inning without allowing a single hit.

But in the tenth with Noah Fluman (San Diego St) on the mound, Willmar lost when Shepski cracked a walk-off double.

Willmar will play Mankato again tomorrow night in Willmar for the second of the split-city series.
