Rafters Begin Weekend Series in Kalamazoo

Wisconsin Rapids faces Kalamazoo for the 5th time this season

                    

Kalamazoo, Mich- Wisconsin Rapids defeated Battle Creek for the fourth time this season by a score of 6-4 last night. John Jaeger (Pacific) picked up his 2nd win of the season, Griffin Weir (Stanford) took the loss for Battle Creek, and James Davitt (Bryant) earned his 2nd save of the summer. The Rafters moved to 5-4 in the 2nd half with the win last night. Their opponents this evening the Kalamazoo Growlers are currently 3-9 in July.

 

Jack Riley (UConn) will make his sixth start of the summer tonight for the visitors. Riley is 3-0 with a 1.92 ERA in the 2015 Northwoods League season. The Rafters have won every start made by Riley this season. He will be making his third start alone against Kalamazoo today, last time he pitched at Homer Stryker Field he threw 3.2 scoreless innings before the game was suspended due to rain. Kalamazoo has not announced their starter for this evening’s ball game.

 

The Rafters head to Kalamazoo to start their weekend series. First pitch for tonight’s game will be at 6:05 PM C.S.T.. The Rafters will return to Witter Field July 14th  when they will face off against the Madison Mallards.
