Chandler Greenfield, Brecken Lewis, and Matthew Deviller added for the 2018 Season

Today the Rafters announced the signing of right-handed pitchers Chandler Greenfield and Brecken Lewis from Dixie State University as well as Matthew Devillier from Centenary College in Louisiana

Chandler Greenfield, a native of Twin Falls, Idaho, is a junior but is playing his first season with the Dixie State Trailblazers. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound righty played his first two seasons of collegiate baseball at Washington State. Across two seasons with the Cougars, Greenfield appeared in 20 games, mostly out of the bullpen, and had 26 strikeouts across 28.2 total innings. This season with Dixie State, Greenfield has 21 strikeouts in 20.1 innings across eight bullpen appearances and one start. His senior year at Twin Falls High School, Greenfield was named Great Basin League Pitcher of the Year after going 10-1 with a 1.68 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 56 innings.

Matthew Deviller

Fellow Trailblazer Brecken Lewis is a redshirt sophomore at Dixie State. A 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Cedar City, Utah, Lewis has pitched 15 innings and thrown 9 strikeouts in 13 bullpen appearances so far this season for the Trailblazers. The right-hander went 11-2 with a 1.83 ERA and 72 strikeouts as a pitcher but also hit .312 with five doubles and three homers at the plate his senior year at Cedar High School. That stellar year earned All-State honors from the Salt Lake Tribune.

Matthew Devillier is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior right-handed pitcher for Centenary College. In seven starts for the Gents this season, Devillier has posted a 3-2 record with an ERA of 2.25. He has thrown a total of 40 total innings and has tallied 35 strikeouts.  The Lake Charles, Louisiana native was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year his sophomore season. He went 11-0 in 12 starts and finished with a 2.98 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 87.2 innings. He led the team that season with three complete games. During his freshman season, Devillier led the SCAC in saves and also recorded the second-most saves in a single season in Centenary’s history with six.

Greenfield, Lewis, Devillier and the rest of the 2018 Wisconsin Rapids Rafters will begin their season on the road against the Madison Mallards on Tuesday, May 29th.  The Home Opener is slated for Friday, June 1st against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.  The entire 2018 Rafters schedule is available at www.raftersbaseball.com.
