Wisconsin Rapids looks to rebound from an eight-run loss and clinch their second winning road trip

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. –  After losing their first road game since the turn of the calendar month, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (4-3) play a morning game against the Rockford Rivets (4-3) to end their second road trip of the year. The Rafters struck first last night. The cranberry and gold plated four in the third on four hits highlighted by Steven Rivas’ second home run of the season. The Rivets would then score 13 times from the third to the sixth innings. The Rafters would score once more in the eighth as the Rivets’ bullpen walked in a run but fell to Rockford by a final of 13-5.

 

This morning the Rafters look to win their second straight road trip of the year. The Rafters will send Trayson Kubo (1-0, 0.00) to the mound. Kubo was locked in in his first start of the year at Madison. The junior from Stephen F. Austin threw five scoreless innings at Warner Park while striking out six Mallards. The Rivets will counter with Chase Kueter (1-0, 1.50). Kueter earned his first win against the Green Bay Bullfrogs on May 30th. The junior from Dubuque allowed just one run in six innings while fanning six.

 

First pitch is set for 11:00 AM.
