Wisconsin Rapids fell by double digits as stormy weather forced the game to be called in the eighth

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. –The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (20-24, 5-4 2nd half) dropped one to the Green Bay Bullfrogs (14-31, 2-7 2nd half) 15-1 as torrential rain forced the game to be sent to a delay in the eighth and eventually called.

The Bullfrogs collected 15 runs on 18 hits. Green Bay scored eight runs on eight hits in the first as the Frogs batted around on the Rafters. Wisconsin Rapids scored their sole run in the first as Ty Duvall (Vanderbilt) batted in Steven Rivas (Long Beach State) from third.

Three more Green Bay runs came home in the second off back-to-back home runs from Luke Robinson and Blaise Maris preceded an RBI sac fly from Eddy Gonzalez. The Frogs plated four more runs between fifth and seventh innings before the weather proved too much of a hinderance in the eighth.

Brecken Lewis suffered the loss (1-3) his third loss of the season. Jason Applegate (2-2) was given the win, his second of the year.

Wisconsin Rapids starts a three-game road trip tomorrow visiting the Green Bay Bullfrogs. First pitch is at 7:05 pm CT from Joannes Stadium.
