Wisconsin Rapids travels to Battle Creek for two games at C.O. Brown Stadium

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (22-29, 7-9 2nd half) visit C.O. Brown Stadium this weekend to take on the Battle Creek Bombers (24-26, 8-7 2nd half) in a two-game weekend series. This is the first time the Rafters have faced the Bombers since June 7th.  Last night, the Rafters fell to Madison 7-1 in a rain-shortened game. The Mallards used a big third inning to keep the Rafters at a distance the entire night. Madison blasted two home runs including a grand slam in the six-run third frame.

On the hill tonight for the Rafters is Jake Cook (1-6, 6.62 ERA). This is the ninth start of the summer for Cook. In 35.1 innings, Cook has earned 28 strikeouts, issued 13 walks and allowed 52 hits.

The Bombers will send Jordan Rhodes (1-1, 3.85 ERA) to the mound. The sophomore from McDaniel College has made nine total appearances for the Bombers with two starts. In 23.1 innings, Rhodes has 19 strikeouts, seven walks and 25 hits allowed.

First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6:05 pm CT
