Wisconsin Rapids Rafters look for revenge on Bombers.

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Rafters return the day after the Major League Dreams Showcase for another matchup against the Battle Creek Bombers at Witter Field. After Monday’s matchup, the Battle Creek Bombers are 19-13 in the second half and 34-33 overall. The cranberry and gold are 15-16 on the season with 30-36 overall. This will be the final matchup between these teams for the 2018 season.

 

Taking the hill tonight for the Rafters is Tyler Giovinco. The Army West Point junior sports a 4.23 ERA for the Rafters and a 3-1 record. This will be Giovinco’s seventh start. In his 34 innings pitched, he has recorded 34 hits, nine walks and 16 strikeouts.

 

Pitching for the Bombers is Chase Wheatcroft. The righty from Cal State Stanislaus has a 3-1 record as well. In 48 innings, he has a 1.87 ERA, has given up 15 walks and 38 hits while striking out 48 batters. This will be junior’s ninth start and 16th appearance for the Bombers.

 

Tonight’s first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters will take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks in a home and home series starting at Athletic Park. The Rafters return home on Friday, August 10th for 7:05 matchup.
