Wisconsin Rapids travels to Lakeshore for a pair of games against the Chinooks

After winning a three-game series against Green Bay, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (15-10) prepare for a two-game road series with the Lakeshore Chinooks (8-18).

Using an 8-2 run over the last 10 games, the Rafters propelled themselves into second place in the Great Lakes West Division. The team’s 2.61 ERA leads the Northwoods League by more than .40.

Wisconsin Rapids rallied late against Green Bay Friday night, but could not complete the comeback in a 6-4 loss to the Booyah. Jake Dunham notched his 21stRBI of the season, which moves him into a tie for the league lead.

The Rafters will start Matt Osterberg, who has a 3-0 record and a 2.86 ERA through three starts this season. Jake Carlson, a righty from Northwestern Ohio, will make his first appearance for the Chinooks.

The Rafters close the series with Lakeshore Sunday at 5:05 p.m. The team’s next home game at Historic Witter Field will be Tuesday, June 25, for Skyward Educators Appreciation Night and an appearance by former Green Bay Packer and NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Kramer.
