Wisconsin Rapids hopes to bounce back in finale with Dock Spiders

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-1) look to respond on the road Saturday after dropping a 5-3 game to the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (2-1) Friday night.

The two-game series with the Dock Spiders kicks off a five-game road trip for the Rafters. Wisconsin Rapids fell 5-3 in game one, despite another strong showing at the plate by Josh Nicoloff. The Rafters are now 6-1 against Fond du Lac this season.

Matt Osterberg, who was recently named a 2019 Northwoods League All-Star, is projected to start for the Rafters. Osterberg has a 4-1 record and a 2.78 ERA through five starts. Connor Cook gets the nod for Fond du Lac. The right-hander has a 1-1 record and a 2.80 ERA. In his last start against the Rafters, Cook pitched three innings and got the loss.

Wisconsin Rapids plays its furthest game Sunday as they travel to Kokomo for two games against the Jackrabbits. The team then returns home to face the Dock Spiders at Historic Witter Field on July 10 for Quality Feed and Seed Bark in the Park Night.
