Wisconsin Rapids is 4-0 this season at Herr-Baker Field

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI- The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (19-14) limited the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders (21-12) to five hits and won 3-1.

Wisconsin Rapids is now 4-1 this season against the Dock Spiders.

The Dock Spiders scored their lone run in the first inning, Chandler Simpson stole second and third and scored on an RBI single.

Rafters’ starter Ben Schoneman (Colorado School of Mines) did not allow another run, the rest of his season-high 6.1 inning outing. He struck out four Dock Spiders and earned his second victory of the season.

The Rafters tied the game in the third after an RBI single from Andrew Duran (New Orleans). To begin the sixth, Duran doubled, his second of three hits. Jacob Hinderleider (Davidson) plated Duran with an RBI triple to right-center. Hinderleider would advance home on a wild pitch.

With the score at 3-1, Schoneman earned his final out to begin the seventh, Hunter Waldis garnered swings and misses facing the next two batters. Waldis threw a 1-2-3 eighth to finish his night.

Brayden Bonner (Dixie State) came on to earn his fifth save of the season. After a single and double with one out to put the tying runner on second, Bonner struck out the next two Dock Spiders. Bonner now has 23 career saves as a Rafter.

Wisconsin Rapids is now two games back of first, with the first half of the season ending July 5th.

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters once again face-off against the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders. First pitch at Herr-Baker is slated for 6:35 p.m. You can listen to the action on WFHR AM 1320.
