First Inter-Division Series Of Season Starts Tonight

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.-The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (4-3) return home to Witter Field tonight to start a two-game series against the Thunder Bay Border Cats (0-8). The Cats enter tonight’s game still searching for their first win of the season after a rough start. Meanwhile, the Rafters just finished a series against the first place Madison Mallards in which they split the four games and handed the Mallards their first two losses of the 2016 campaign.

Gareth Stroh (NR, Coffeyville CC) will seek to protect the Rafters two-game winning streak and keep the Border Cats winless. In Stroh’s first start of the year he went 7 innings, while allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 7 in a win.

Thunder Bay will send out Gunnar Kay (NR, Jefferson College) for his third start of the season. Kay has struggled in his first two starts, managing just 4.2 innings of work combined.

First pitch for tonight’s game is set for 7:05 PM, with gates opening at 6:05 PM.
