The Chinooks return to Wisconsin Rapids for first game of home and home series.

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Rafters split the doubleheader with the Kalamazoo Growlers. After both heavy hitting contests, The Rafters are one game below .500 14-15, and the Growlers fell to 21-9 and are still two games back from the South Division leaders, the Madison Mallards.

Last night in game two, eight of nine in the Rafters’ order recorded hits for including stellar performances from Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV), Mike Rojas (Auburn) and Brody Wofford (Central Florida). Wold went 3-5 recording 4 RBI and two doubles. Rojas went 4-4 with two RBI. Wofford, who put on a show for Rafters fans yesterday, went 3 for 5 with 4 RBI and two homeruns.

Tonight the Rafters take on the Chinooks in game one of the home and home series. Wisconsin Rapids is 1-1 against Lakeshore in the 2018 season.

Taking the mound tonight for the Rafters is Gareth Stroh (Purdue).  The left handed junior is 1-1 this season for the Rafters and maintains a 2.25 ERA. This will be Stroh’s fourth appearance and start. He has given up four walks, 13 hits and struck out 14 batters.

Pitching for the Chinooks is Carthage Senior Kevin Tibor. The righty maintains a 1.33 ERA in four starts for Lakeshore. In 27 innings pitched, Tibor has three walks, 17 hits and 27 strikeouts. He sports a 2-2 record.

The first pitch is slated for 7:05p.m. at Witter Field.
