Wisconsin Rapids takes on Kenosha again after tough loss.

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Rafters fell to the Kenosha Kingfish last night, dropping them to 14-18 on the season. The Rafters lost after an improbable ninth inning ten run comeback from Kenosha, the second largest ninth-inning comeback in Northwoods League history. The Kingfish are now 12-18 on the season. In 2018, the Rafters lead the Kingfish 3-2 in the season series.

Despite the Rafters’ tough loss, Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) went 3-for-4 with five RBI and a run scored. Two of his hits were doubles. Wold now leads the Rafters in doubles (11), hits (38) and tied in RBI (24).

On the mound for his Rafters debut is Tyler Giovinco (Army West Point). The lefthanded junior had an impressive 2018 spring season. At Army West Point, he had a 9-5 record and a 3.25 ERA. Starting in 15 games and pitching 94 innings he struck out 77 batters.

Pitching for the Kingfish is Denson Hull. The lefty from Creighton has a 2-0 record and a 3.44 ERA. In 31.1 innings pitched he has struck out 23 batters.

The first pitch is slated for 4:05 p.m. at Witter Field.
