Welcome to Witter Field
Witter Field is the home of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Baseball Club. The field was built in 1928 and has great baseball history. Witter Field was home to the Wisconsin Rapids Sox, Wisconsin Rapids
Senators, and the Wisconsin Rapids Twins. Witter Field is also the home to Lincoln High School, Assumption High School, and the American Legion Baseball programs.
The Wisconsin Rapids Sox were a Chicago White Sox affiliate and played from 1939 to 1952. The
Wisconsin Rapids Senators were part of the Midwest League and played in 1963. The Wisconsin Rapids Twins were a Minnesota Twins affiliate and played from 1964 to 1983.
Witter Field got a face lift over 1949 and 1950 when the wooden bleachers were replaced with the current metal grandstand. The stadium seats 1,611 people and offers great seating from former Milwaukee Brewers County Stadium seats, to bleacher seats, to private picnic area, to Home Plate Club, as well as a new private deck area. The ballpark is very spacious and also offers great standing room views as well as a covered grandstand. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Baseball Club added 227 Milwaukee County Stadium seats to Witter Field in the spring of 2010.
We are pleased to be part of the Wisconsin Rapids Community and look forward to bringing fun, affordable baseball to the area for years to come.
