La Crosse 9, Wisconsin 8
The La Crosse Loggers took game one against the Wisconsin Woodchucks by a score of 9-8 Saturday night.  The Loggers were led by Brandon Meredith (San Diego State) 2-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI with two doubles.  The Logger pitching staff gave up eight runs, six of which were earned.  The Woodchucks Brandon King (Fresno City)was 4-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI.  King hit two home runs on the night for the ‘Chucks in the loss. 

Wisconsin 4, La Crosse 1
The Woodchucks beat the Loggers 4-1 in a rain shortened ball game Saturday night.  Kodey Simon (Winona State) took the loss throwing 2.2 innings of three run baseball.  Woodchuck’s second basemen, Travis Whitmore (Pittsburgh), was a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored.  The Woodchucks Brandon King (Fresno City) and Patrick Terry (Santa Clara), both had two hits in game two of the double header. 

Alexandria 3, Duluth 2
The Duluth Huskies lost the battle in Saturday night’s game to the Alexandria Beetles 2-3. Alexandria hit the plate swinging in the first inning. Beetle Marcus Semien (Cal) hit a single and later advanced to third when Mikel Alvarez (Florida Gulf Coast) shot a double at the Huskies. Jake Tanis (Mercer) also got on base when he hit a single off Duluth pitcher Josh Renfro (State College of FL). Semien, Alvarez, and Tanis scored the three Alexandria runs for the game in the first. For Duluth, Casey Lytle (University of Kansas) was walked and later scored when Mark Threlkeld (Louisiana Tech) doubled. In the sixth, Threlkeld hit his second double for the game and later scored to bring in the second run for the Huskies.  For Duluth, Ben Hughes (St. Olaf) relieved Renfro and threw the rest of the game allowing only three hits. Alexandria’s Lindsey Caughel (Stetson) went home with the win allowing just four hits and one run over five innings.

Green Bay 8, Waterloo 3
The Green Bay Bullfrogs beat the Waterloo Bucks Saturday night by a score of 8-3 at Joannes Stadium.  The Bullfrogs Scott Schebler (Wichita State) continued to stay hot at the plate going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and five RBI.  Schebler tripled on the night and also hit his fifth home run of the season.  Bullfrog starter, Owen Jones (Portland), earned the win by throwing 5.0 innings while giving up three runs.  Zach McCool (Iowa) led the way for the Bucks with a two hit performance.

Rochester 9, Brainerd 1
After being rained out the previous three nights the Honkers got back on the field and back on the winning track with a 9-1 victory over the Lunkers.  The Rochester bats were well rested for a busy night as the Honker offense chalked up 14 hits against Brainerd. Leading the way for Rochester was Devin Thaut (Paradise Valley CC) and Danny Pulfer (Oregon) who each recorded three hits. Richie Jimenez (UNLV), Dan Pellegrino (UC Riverside) and Anthony Hutting (Cal St. Fullerton) all finished the night with a pair of hits. Pulfer and Chris Elder (Oral Roberts) provided the power for Rochester by blasting home runs, including a monster two-run blast off the bat of Elder.  Taking the mound for Rochester was Josh McKeon (Upper Iowa) who went five innings allowing just three hits while shutting out the Lunkers.

Wisconsin Rapids 5, Battle Creek 1
The pitching carried the day for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, but the offense helped out late in a 5-1 win over the Battle Creek Bombers Saturday night.  In just his second start of the season lefty Kyle Anderson (Cal Poly) tossed six scoreless innings with three strike outs and no walks. Anderson allowed one unearned run in the seventh inning, but that did nothing to blot his spectacular evening.  The combo of Brad Douthit (USC) and Steve Godawa (Valparaiso) proved valuable again for the Rafters in relief. Douthit tossed two innings of two hit relief, while Godawa nailed down the final three outs in the ninth.  

Eau Claire 8, Madison 7
The Eau Claire Express won the first game of a double-header tonight against the Madison Mallards 8-7. The second game which was scheduled for 9:00 p.m. was suspended due to weather. Game two will be played tomorrow at Carson Park at 3:30 p.m. with the original game taking place right after

Willmar, Thunder Bay
Due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions, Saturday night’s game between the Willmar Stingers and the Thunder Bay Border Cats has been postponed. As a result, the Stingers and Border Cats will play a pair of seven inning games on Sunday, June 27th starting at 5:05 pm at Bill Taunton Stadium, with the gates opening at 4:00 pm. 

Mankato, St. Cloud
The Mankato MoonDogs pitching staff appeared back on track against the second place St. Cloud River Bats at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato before the game was suspended due to rain, tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning Saturday night.  Matt Lewis (St. Scholastica) went the 5 1/3 innings for the River Bats, allowing four hits and retiring three MoonDogs via the strikeout.  The game will be resumed in the bottom of the sixth and will be played in its entirety starting at 5:05 p.m. and the gates will open at 4:05 p.m.
