The Rafters announced that southpaw Jesse Arreola (Cal Baptist) will return to Wisconsin Rapids for a second season.  Currently a sophomore, the crafty lefty was a key contributor on the mound for the 2010 Rafters inaugural season squad.

Arreola appeared in 20 games last summer mostly out of the bullpen, before sliding into the rotation for 4 starts near the end of the season. He posted a 3-4 record while striking out 49 batters in 53.2 innings of work. His strikeout total was good enough for second on the team.

“Jesse set an impressive record in Rafters history when he recorded 14 strikeouts in a game against Battle Creek last summer,” said Rafters GM Liz Kern. “He is a great competitor and we look forward to having him back for a second year.”
