The Waterloo Bucks announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Pat Gannon to their roster for the 2011 season. Gannon is a sophomore at Purdue University.

The 6’0", 180-pound hurler threw in 10 games in 2010, ending up with a 4-1 record and an ERA of 6.65 for the Boilermakers. Gannon finished the season with 14 strikeouts. In his first collegiate start, against Chicago State University, Gannon did not give up an earned run or issue a walk in over six innings.

"I’ve heard great things about the Bucks and Waterloo as a city," said Gannon who is originally from Evergreen Park, Illinois. "I’m very excited for this summer and will hopefully help the Waterloo Bucks to a championship."

At Brother Rice High School, Gannon tied the school record with 26 career wins on the mound. He was named the top pitcher all three years he was a member of the varsity team, and was also three-time all-state and all-conference. Gannon helped his team win the Catholic League championship his junior and senior years.

This season for Purdue, Gannon has seen action in three games, owning a perfect 0.00 ERA.

The Bucks will open the 2011 season on the road at the Battle Creek Bombers on June 1.
