The Waterloo Bucks announced the signing of utility player Jeremy Hill to their 2011 roster. Hill is a junior at Nicholls State University and joins fellow NSU teammate Mike Wisecarver on the Bucks roster this summer.

This season for the Colonels, Hill is hitting .245 in 27 games and 102 at bats, splitting time as an outfielder and a designated hitter.  Hill has also seen time on the mound for Nicholls State.  With four appearances, the left-handeder owns a 0-0 record with a 5.06 ERA and three strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched.

Hill, originally from Long Beach, Mississippi, spent the 2009 and 2010 seasons playing for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The 6’2", 220-pounder hit .410 in 2010 with 41 RBI, including nine doubles, a triple, and 12 home runs. Hill had another solid season in 2009, averaging .448 with 65 hits and 72 RBI.

"Jeremy comes to us from a Nicholls State program that sent us infielder Chase Jaramillo last year," said Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin. "A left-handed bat, Jeremy gives a serious threat from that side of the plate.  We expect to see him play first base and outfield for us, with the option to use him out of the bullpen."
