The Marietta College Pioneers won the NCAA Division-III College World Series in Appleton, Wisc.  The Pioneers were led by current Green Bay Bullfrogs Austin Blaski and Kyle Lindquist.  The two right-handed pitchers were integral parts of the Pioneers championship run with Blaski being named Tournament MVP.

Blaski has a 10-2 record with a 1.76 ERA as Marietta’s No. 2 starter, holding opponents to a .185 batting average. Lindquist has recorded 11 saves with a 1.93 ERA, striking out 41 batters in 371/3 innings.

Marietta is one of the nation’s winningest program is now the sole leader in NCAA Division III baseball championships as the 2011 edition joins the 1981, 1983, 1986 and 2006 squads.  The Pioneers defeated Chapman in an “if necessary” game 18-5.
