Madison, WI – May 10, 2013. The Madison Mallards have announced the signing of right-handed pitchers Jordan Tabakman from the University of Connecticut and Brian Drapeau of Howard College.
Tabakman, a 6’4," 215-pound redshirt sophomore from Pompton Plains, New Jersey, is 5-0 in 18 appearances, which have included three starts for the Huskies this spring. He also has a team high five saves.
During the 2012 season, Tabakman appeared in eight games and started in five. He went 3-1 with an ERA of 4.25 and struck out 22 batters in 36 innings of work. His highlight of the year came against Pittsburgh on April 6, when he pitched seven shutout innings en route to a win. He attended the University of North Carolina during his freshman year.
Tabakman went to Pequannock Township High School in Pequannock, New Jersey, and graduated in 2010. He was a four-year letterwinner and served as team captain during his senior year, when he earned First Team All-State, All-County and All-Conference honors. He led his team to a state championship in 2009 as a junior.
Drapeau, a 6’1," 215-pound sophomore from Livingston, New Jersey, is 2-0 in 12 appearances, including nine starts for the Hawks this spring. He has a 3.02 ERA, one save and 58 strikeouts in 62.2 innings pitched.
Drapeau attended Livingston High School in Livingston, New Jersey, located just 20 miles away from Pequannock Township High School, where Tabakman graduated. Drapeau was named to the 2011 Rawlings Northeast Region Honorable Mention team following his senior season. He is a pre-med major at Howard College and will be transferring to Long Island University this fall.

The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. In 2013, the Northwoods League will celebrate its 20th season.
