Nagle Saw Time at First Base and in Outfield with Waterloo Last Season

Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that infielder/outfielder Ryan Nagle has re-signed to play with Waterloo for the 2015 season.  Nagle, a junior at the University of Illinois, is the fourth player to be named to the Bucks’ roster for the team’s 21st season.

Last season, Nagle hit .286 in 47 games for the Bucks, playing 28 games at first base and 14 in the outfield.  The 6’2”, 210-pounder hit one home run with 33 RBI and finished with a .375 slugging percentage.

“Ryan came in last season and did a great job at the plate and helped us defensively in multiple areas,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin.  “He’s a left-handed bat that sprays the ball and we expect big things out of him in 2015.”

A native of Streator, Illinois, Nagle hit .295 for the Fighting Illini last year, playing in 47 games.  Nagle scored 26 runs with nine doubles, and eight stolen bases.

Born August 7, 1994, Nagle attended Streator High School where he ranked as the number 27 overall prospect in the class of 2012 in Illinois by Prep Baseball Report.  Nagle hit .459 with 20 doubles, eight home runs, and 41 RBI in 2011.  Ryan is the son of Mike Nagle and Lynn Halgren.

The Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, will open the 2015 season on the road versus the Alexandria Blue Anchors on May 26, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus the Mankato MoonDogs on May 28.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
