Wisconsin Rapids Signs Left-handed Pitchers From University of Central Florida and Cisco College (Tx)

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.- The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are pleased to announced the signings of two pitchers for the 2015 Northwoods League season. Harrison Hukari (Central Florida) and Chris Falwell (Cisco College) are both left-handed pitchers who will bolster the Rafters pitching staff in the upcoming season.

LHP- Harrison Hukari, 6’6”, 245 lbs (L/L) Redshirt Junior, Central Florida

The lefty from St. Petersburg, Florida has a tall 6’6” frame that will be utilized by manager Craig Noto early and often this upcoming season. Hukari is an experienced pitcher out of the bullpen for the Central Florida Knights. In 2013 he made 13 appearances totaling 17 innings where he had a formidable ERA of 3.71 before redshirting during the 2014 season. Hukari is no stranger to summer collegiate baseball, as he pitched in the Coastal Plain League for the Columbia Blowfish in 2013 and the Sanford River Rats of the Florida League in 2014. He is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida and majoring in History. 

LHP- Chris Falwell, 6’7”, 210 lbs (L/L) Sophomore, Cisco College

Sophomore Chris Falwell is another long, lanky left-handed pitcher standing 6’7” tall. Falwell started his collegiate career with the Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC. Working out of the bullpen, he boasted a solid 2.70 earned run average and notched four strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Falwell will continue his career at Cisco College (TX) for the spring of 2015 season and plans to transfer to Texas A&M Corpus-Christi in the fall. He was named first team All-Central Texas following his prep senior season in which he went 8-2 with a 1.56 ERA. He is another big body from the left side that should make the Rafters staff very potent this Northwoods League season. Falwell is a native of Round Rock, Texas.
