(Rochester, Minn.) The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of infielder Miles Mastrobuoni (Mas-tro-bo-nee) from the College of San Mateo.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound sophomore shortstop is currently hitting .250 with 2 doubles and 10 RBIs.  He is a leading the team in at bats with 56 and also stolen bases, swiping eight of nine so far on the season.

As a freshman, Mastrobuoni hit .310 with 22 RBIs and led the team with 27 stolen bases in only 39 games.  His 56 total bases was a team high and was fourth in on-base percentage at .415.  He was awarded first team All-Pacific Coast Golden Gate honors for his efforts.

Mastrobuoni played for the Walnut Creek Crawdads of the California Summer Collegiate League in 2014 where he was selected to play in the All-Star Game.  He finished his summer season hitting .292 with seven doubles and seven stolen bases.

In high school, Mastrobuoni played for Granada High in Livermore, Calif.  As a senior, his team finished 24-2 and finished the year No. 16 in the nation, peaking at No. 2 at one point.

Mastrobuoni has verbally committed to play for the Nevada Wolfpack for his junior season.
