Wausau, WIS –The Wisconsin Woodchucks are proudly announcing the addition of one more player for the 2016 season.  Jonah Dipoto is a freshman at the University of California- San Diego and will be joining the team in 2016. 

RHP – Jonah Dipoto, 6’1”, 200 IBS, (R/R/) Freshman, University of California-San Diego

Dipoto is originally from Newport Beach, California and attended Newport Harbor High School.  He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 38th round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft.  He played summer ball for Trombly baseball in 2014 and 2015.  In 2014, he also played for the Southern California scout team of the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Elite scout ball team. Dipoto was awarded the 2015 Perfect Game Preseason High School Senior All-American Honorable Mention and 2015 Perfect Game Preseason California All-Region High-School Senior Second Team.  Dipoto also earned the title RLF Senior showcase in 2015.  So far in his freshman campaign, Dipoto has appeared in 4 games earning a record of 1-1 while striking out 5.
