Kenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish will be bringing in some new hitters for the 2016 season. The Kingfish previously announced the returns of infielders Coffey and Westmoreland, but were still looking to fill in gaps from several off-season departures.

The first addition is Blake Reese, a switch-hitting freshman from the University of Florida. Reese hails from Tallahassee, Florida and attended Lincoln High School. He was ranked as the seventh best short stop in the state his senior year before committing to play with the Gators.

In high school, he graduated cum laude with a 4.27 GPA. He excelled on the diamond as well, as he was named to the Florida All-Region First Team and was a two-time all conference award recipient.

Tyler Rand is another new face that will be seen in a Kingfish uniform this upcoming summer. Rand is beginning his freshman year at the University of Texas and is hoping to add some depth to the Kingfish outfield.

Rand was a two-time all-district and Team Texas selection after hitting over .320 his last two high school seasons. Like Reese, Rand also excelled in the classroom, as he was a three-time member of the academic honor roll and an academic all-district selection as a junior. Both players hope to contribute to the Kingfish offense this summer.

The Kingfish will open up play this summer at home against the La Crosse Loggers on May 31 at 7:05 CST.
