Honkers Add Two From Point Loma Nazarene
(Rochester, Minn.) – The Rochester Honkers have announced the signings of Casey Dunlap and Ryan Casper, juniors from Point Loma Nazarene. Casper joins the squad as a temporary player.
Dunlap is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound infielder. Through nine games this season, Dunlap has four hits in 23 at-bats. He has driven in four runs. Dunlap began his collegiate career at Phoenix College. During his two years there, Dunlap played 111 games and compiled a .313 batting average. He proved to be a big run producer at Phoenix College with seven home runs and 98 RBIs. Dunlap is a native of Durango, Colo.
Casper is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound outfielder and right-handed pitcher. Casper has made 14 plate appearances so far in the 2018 season and has three hits and two walks. He’s also made two mound appearances. As a sophomore at Point Loma, he made six relief appearances and earned a record of 1-0 while having a 4.91 ERA. He made four straight appearances without giving up a run. At the plate, Casper hit .217 with two doubles and one home run. He drove in seven runs. As a freshman he struck out 10 batters over 9 2/3 innings. He compiled a 4.66 ERA. He singled in his only at-bat. Casper is a native of Encinitas, Calif.
Point Loma (7-6) continues their season on March 3 at Hawaii Pacific in Honolulu Hawaii for a four-game series. Former Honkers pitching coach, Demetre Kokoris, currently serves as the pitching coach Point Loma.
