The Rockford Rivets outlasted the Battle Creek Battle Jacks in an eleven-inning pitchers’ duel, pulling away with a 5-1 win after a four-run explosion in the last frame. Cal Jones (Henderson State University) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Sam Griffith (Oakland University) went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Ben Catrambone (Limestone College) earned the win, throwing one inning, giving up one hit and zero earned runs. Kaysen Raineri (University of Hawaii) set the tone with a dominating outing, throwing seven scoreless innings, recording seven strikeouts, giving up three hits, and two walks. On the opposing side was another strong pitching performance by Jack Messmore (Univeristy of New Mexico), who threw 3.2 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, giving up three hits and two walks.
Thunder Bay 9, St. Cloud 6
The Thunder Bay Border Cats outslugged the St. Cloud Rox in a 9-6 win, fueled by a 17-hit performance. Jordan Bach (Southern Illinois University) was perfect at the plate, going 5-for-5, including a solo home run, recording three RBIs, three runs, and one stolen base. Manny Alberto (Georgia Gwinnett College) went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Lucas Johnson (Eastern Michigan University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. Riley Iffrig (Saint Louis University) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and one stolen base. Nolan Geislinger (Iowa Western CC) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. La Crosse 7, Badlands 3
The La Crosse Loggers racked up 12 hits in tonight’s 7-3 victory. Eli Small (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and one stolen base. Kedren Kinzie (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Brayden Jefferis (University of Michigan) went 2-for-5, including a triple, one RBI, one run, and one stolen base. Tyler Gebb (Long Beach State) earned the win, throwing seven innings with seven strikeouts, allowing four hits, two runs, and one walk.
Minot 6, Bismarck 2
The Minot Hot Tots struck early and never looked back, defeating the Bismarck Larks 6-2. The Eau Claire Express exploded for six runs in the eleventh inning to defeat the Rochester Honkers 11-7 in a wild extra-innings battle. Jackson Glueck (Pima CC) went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and one stolen base. McGwire Turner (University of Montevallo) collected three RBIs and two runs. Marcelino Alonso (Madison College) went 3-for-5, scoring twice with one RBI. Maddox Haley (Gonzaga University) went 3-for-5, including a solo home run, recording two RBIs. The Wausau Woodchucks erupted offensively in a shortened five-inning game, dominating the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 21-7.
