A full slate of Northwoods League action featured dominant pitching performances, late-inning comebacks, and plenty of offensive fireworks across the board. From walk-off finishes to shutouts and extra-inning thrillers, teams across the league made statements heading into the stretch run of the season.

Wausau 8, Wisconsin Rapids 0

The Woodchucks controlled the game from the start, shutting out the Rafters 8–0 behind an 11-hit, error-free performance. Gatlin Pitts (Western Kentucky University) went 2-for-4 with a triple, one RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base, while Kyler Northrop (Washington State University) added a 3-for-4 day with an RBI and a run scored. On the mound, Tyson Potts (Central Michigan University) was dominant, tossing 7.2 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts, allowing just two hits and one walk.

Lakeshore 8, Kalamazoo 5

The Chinooks broke the game open with a five-run third inning and held off a late Growlers rally to secure an 8–5 win, finishing with 15 hits on the night. Nick Allred (St. Mary’s College (CA)) went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, while David Hogg II (Grayson CC) added a 2-for-5 performance with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. Sam Meidenbauer (UW-Platteville) was also key, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base. For Kalamazoo, Charlie Wortham (Mississippi State University) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored. Dominic Monaco (Western Kentucky) earned the win, tossing three innings with five strikeouts while allowing three hits, four walks, and two runs.

Green Bay 8, Fond du Lac 6 (13 Stolen Bases)

The Rockers jumped out early and held off a late push from the Dock Spiders to secure an 8–6 win. David Ballenilla (Tennessee Wesleyan University) was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double, four RBI, one run scored, and a stolen base. Max Humphrey (Kent State University) added a big night as well, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run, four runs scored, and four stolen bases, while Coleman Lewis (Georgia Tech) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and four stolen bases. Ben Fishel (Columbia University) and John Handy (University of Hawaii) each contributed two stolen bases to keep the pressure on the bases paths. For Fond du Lac, Reed Strohmeyer (University of Nebraska) went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored. Kaden Straily (Metro State University of Denver) earned the win, tossing two innings with two strikeouts while allowing two runs on one hit and three walks.

Kenosha 6, Traverse City 4

 

The Kingfish used a late surge to pull away from the Pit Spitters and secure a 6–4 win. Dawson Downs (UC Santa Barbara) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored, while Brendan Fritch (Davidson College) added a 2-for-4 night with a double and two RBI. For Traverse City, Jacob Kucharczyk (Penn State University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, and Ethan Guerra (University of Arizona) also went deep, finishing 1-for-4 with a solo shot. Luke Weber (University of Illinois) earned the win, tossing six innings with six strikeouts while allowing four hits, three runs, and two walks.

La Crosse 8, Eau Claire 4

The Kingfish used a late surge to pull away from the Pit Spitters and secure a 6–4 win. Mana Lau Kong (University of Hawaii) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, while Maxwell Kalk (Ball State University) added a solo shot and scored twice. Eli Small (Florida Atlantic University) also went deep, finishing 1-for-4 with a solo home run, and Kelson Johnson (Georgia SW State University) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base. For Eau Claire, Quinten Marsh (Stanford University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, and Adam Salazar (Hope International University) finished 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles. Adam Hayes (Texas Tech University) earned the win, tossing five innings with six strikeouts while allowing six hits, three runs, and two walks.

Badlands 7, Minot 3

The Big Sticks used a strong middle stretch to take control and hold off the Hot Tots for a 7–3 win in seven innings. After falling behind early, they responded with a 4-run 3rd inning and never gave the lead back, adding insurance runs in the 5th and 6th. Jackson Ellison (Liberty University) had a huge night, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored, while Samson Pugh (Texas State University) went 2-for-2 with two RBI. For Minot, Tyler Arnold (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Jack Lundquist (Alexandria Tech CC) earned the win, tossing two innings with three strikeouts while allowing four hits, three runs, and three walks, and Gavyn Schlotterback (University of Kansas) locked down the save with two scoreless, hitless innings and one strikeout.

Royal Oak 13, Battle Jacks 12 (10 Innings)

The Leprechauns outlasted the Battle Jacks in a wild extra-inning finish, walking it off in the 10th to secure a 13–12 win. Mateo Noto (Indiana University) delivered the walk-off hit, going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Luke Kosko (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-6 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored, while Michael Zielinski (Wright State University) finished 2-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. Lucas Mead (Saginaw Valley State University) added a 1-for-1 performance with a double, one RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base. For the Battle Jacks, Payton Bookwalter (Gardner-Webb University) went 4-for-7 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored, and Christian Lopez (Cal State Bakersfield) went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, one RBI, and a stolen base. Kellen English (Indiana University) earned the win, tossing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts while allowing three walks and one hit.

Rockford 3, Richmond 2

The Rivets used a late push to edge the Flying Mummies 3–2 in a tight, low-scoring battle. After being held in check most of the night, they broke through with a 3-run 8th inning to flip the game and secure the comeback win. Coby Neville (Paradise Valley CC) went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base. For Richmond, Landen Fry (Indiana University) went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Keith Eusebio (Paradise Valley CC) earned the win, going the distance with nine innings pitched, seven strikeouts, allowing four hits, two walks, and one earned run.

Waterloo 10, Rochester 3

The Bucks pulled away late to defeat the Honkers 10–3 behind a dominant offensive finish. After a back-and-forth start, they broke things open with a 3-run 5th and then exploded for 4 runs in the 8th to seal the win. Dane Most (Iowa Western CC) went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and a stolen base, while Zach Davis (University of Louisville) was 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base. Mycah Jordan (Virginia Tech) added a solo home run, finishing 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base. For Rochester, Jackson Glueck (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Jack Walsh (Coe College) earned the win, tossing five innings with seven strikeouts while allowing five hits, three runs, and three walks, and Sam Hanson (Morningside University) secured the save with two perfect innings and one strikeout.

St. Cloud 12, Bismarck 0

The Rox dominated from start to finish, rolling past the Larks 12–0 behind a 12-hit shutout. Carter Jorissen (Cal State Bakersfield) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBI, and a stolen base, while Colton Rother (university of Kansas) finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Aidan Mouton (University of Kansas) added a 3-for-4 performance with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base, and Tanner Recchio (University of Minnesota) scored three times while swiping three bags. On the mound, Tyler Phenow (Texas Christian University) earned the win, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, allowing just one hit and two walks.

Duluth 5, Thunder Bay 1

The Huskies used a steady offensive performance and timely hitting to take down the Border Cats 5–1. Jalen Smith (Barry University) went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI, while George McIntyre (Dallas Baptist) added a strong 2-for-5 night with a home run, a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. For Thunder Bay, Ayden Hadley (Sacramento State University (CA)) went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Alex Kean ( Morehead State University (KY)) finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Cameron Johnson (McLennan CC) earned the win, tossing seven innings with three strikeouts while allowing five hits, two walks, and one run.

Madison 8, Minnesota 7 (Walk Off)

The Mallards pulled off a dramatic late comeback, scoring eight runs over the final three innings to edge the Mud Puppies 8–7. Aaron Holland (UW-Whitewater) delivered the winning RBI, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. Griffin Rardin (University of Alabama) went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored, while Marcelino Alonso (Indiana State University) finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. For Minnesota, Owen Bond (Creighton University) went 1-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and a stolen base, and Connor Larsen (University of Central Missouri) added a solo home run in a 1-for-5 performance. Aidan Perry (Dakota State University) went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and one run scored, and Beau Thoma (Bemidji State Unviersity) finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Eamonn Mulhern (St. Cloud State University) earned the win, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing two hits.

Willmar 4, Mankato 3

The Stingers held off a late push from the MoonDogs to secure a 4–3 win in a tight matchup. Esteban Sepulveda (UC Riverside) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, while Kyle Panganiban (Cal State Northridge) finished 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run scored, and a stolen base. Luke DeVine (Santa Clara University) added pressure on the bases, scoring once and stealing three bags. For Mankato, Charlie Buckles (Florida State University) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base, and Even Rolbiecki (University of Hawaii) finished 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored. Riley Hasenstab (Georgia Tech) earned the win, tossing five innings with seven strikeouts while allowing 10 hits, two runs, and two walks, and David Hagen (West Virginia University) recorded the save by striking out the final two batters.

Minot 8, Badlands 2

The Hot Tots broke things open late to take an 8–2 win over the Big Sticks in seven innings. Caleb Gipson (Georgia SW State University) went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, and a stolen base, while Chris Daniels (New Mexico State University) finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. On the mound, Jaden Davis ( New Mexico State University) earned the win, tossing five innings with two strikeouts while allowing one hit, one earned run, and three walks. Dylan Leoff (Cuesta College) closed it out to earn the save, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and allowing just one hit.
