It was a must-win game for the Beetles, as Nick Brown (Iowa) turned in a sparkling performance. He threw seven innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out four and walking none. His only mistake was a two run homerun to Cody Fick (Evansville).

House Homer Leads Bullfrogs

After a single and a walk, Jacob House (Arkansas) belted his third home run of the season in the first inning to give Green Bay a 3-0 lead. The Bullfrogs went on to defeat Waterloo 8-4. House finished 1-2 with two runs scored and four RBI.

Drobnick Earns Save In Woodchucks Victory

Anthony Drobnick (Washington State) picked up his fourth save of the season after throwing two scoreless innings. Drobnick did not allow a hit, walked one and struck out one in the Woodchucks victory over Eau Claire. This is Drobnick's second Pitcher of the Night Award (July 19).

Patterson’s Blast Leads Mallards

Waterloo held a 2-1 lead before the Mallards erupted for three runs in the third on a towering three-run blast over the center field wall by catcher Joe Patterson (Texas A&M), part of a three-for-three, three-RBI night. The Mallards went on to win 6-5 and move a game ahead of Waterloo and just a half game behind first place La Crosse.

Handley Harnesses Huskies

Mitch Handley (North Alabama) held the Duluth Huskies to just one hit and one run in his seven inning complete game 2-1 victory for the Alexandria Beetles over Duluth. Handley walked just one and struck out six in the second game of the double header in Alexandria.
