Zach Robertson (Iowa) now holds the Northwoods League record for career strikeouts with 251. Robertson (pictured) struck out 11 in a 12-2 win against Madison on Thursday night to claim the record.

The Madison Mallards (pictured) used a 7 run 8th inning to come from behind and defeat Eau Claire to remain a half game behind La Crosse. St. Cloud pounded Rochester 16-6 to stay alive in the North.

Gumieny Tosses Second Shutout

Kyle Gumieny (Southeast Missouri State) threw his second shutout of the season as the Wisconsin Woodchucks dominated the Waterloo Bucks in a 9-0 victory Thursday night. Gumieny, who lowered his ERA to 2.54 with the win, went the distance and scattered seven hits while striking out eight. He did not walk a batter.

Knight Ignites Loggers Offense

La Crosse Loggers shortstop Austin Knight (Dallas Baptist) ignited the offensive explosion that put the Loggers back in first place Thursday. Knight was 4-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. He also walked and stole a base in the Loggers 11-2 victory over Eau Claire.

Butt Improves To 7-0 With Complete Game

The Woodchucks Bryce Butt (Ohio) improved to an impressive 7-0 on the season by pitching a four-hit, one-run complete game. He held Waterloo to only one hit through the first seven innings and did not walk a batter.

Baumgartner Single Wins It In 10th For Huskies

Todd Baumgartner's (Arkansas St) fourth hit of the night was a big one as he drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Duluth Huskies the victory over Mankato. Baumgartner was 4-5 with the RBI in Duluth's 2-1 win over the first half North Division champions.

The Rochester Honkers (pictured) overcame a seven run deficit to defeat Madison 15-9 and stretch their lead in the North to 3.5 games. Madison saw their lead in the South shrink to just a half game.

Talley Wins Duel Of All-Stars

Bombers starter Matt Talley (The Citadel) scattered six hits and three walks over seven innings, allowing only one run and picking up his team-leading sixth win. He outdueled fellow South Division All-Star pitcher Steven Gruver (Tennessee). Battle Creek completed the two-game sweep of La Crosse, 4-1.

O’Grady’s Ignites Lunkers Again

Brainerd's Dennis O'Grady (Duke) finished 3-for-4 on the night with two singles, a double, a walk, three runs scored, and 2 RBI. O'Grady knocked a two-run double off the left field wall in the 6th inning to put the Lunkers up for good as they went on to defeat Duluth 9-5. O'Grady has now been named the Player of the Night twice while also earning three Pitcher of the Night awards.
