Kenosha, Wis. – Last night’s game was a tough loss for the Kingfish as they fell 10-9 on a three run homer in the top of the ninth. The race for first is as tight as ever and with the loss, the Kingfish are two games behind. With still plenty of time left in the season, the Kingfish look to get back on track, starting tonight against the Loggers.

Left-handed pitcher J.D Nielsen will be on the mound and pursuing his third win. Nielsen last pitched on July 3rd and had a smooth outing, going seven innings allowing only three runs and striking out six.

Pitching for the Loggers will be Blake Stevens. Stevens is coming into tonight’s game with a 5.40 ERA and only one appearance on the year. He faced 21 batters and gave up three runs in fiving innings of work.

This fares well for Duffy Dyer’s team as they had 15 hits in last night’s game and have been averaging five runs per game over the last four contests.  Furthermore, second baseman Chris Godinez has been active, having scored a run in the last three games. Zach Jones has a nine game hitting streak, dating back to June 24th and with Steven Sensley’s home run last night, the Kingfish now sit in fourth place in the league with 24 homeruns.

The Kingfish start their three series road trip in Wasau and continue onto La Crosse and finally Battle Creek. They return to Kenosha on Thursday, July 17th for Snap-On Sockets “What If” Night.

The Kingfish office is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information on 7-game packs, season or group tickets, please log on to kingfishbaseball.com or call 262.653.0900.
