The Kenosha Kingfish (0-1) fell on night one of the Northwoods League season by a final of 3-0 to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (1-0). Kenosha was stymied by Rafters left hander and current Madison college pitcher Jack Eagan. Eagan went six innings and allowed only one hit while striking out seven Kingfish batters.

The games only hit for the Kingfish came in the first at bat of the game from Left Fielder Chris Botsoe. 

Kenosha starter Colan Treml gave his team 6 1/3 innings allowing two runs, on five hits, and striking out eight. The lefty from UW-Oshkosh gave up both of his runs in the bottom of the third. The first on a basehit from the Rafters Shortstop Bryson Stott and the second on a pick off throw that Treml threw away on a pick off move allowing Wisconsin Rapids Shaq Robinson to score from third base.

Following the righty's effort on the hill was Florida Gator Billy McKay. McKay went 1 2/3 innings allowing one run, on two hits, while striking out four.

The Rafters scored their final run of the night on a Mitchell Mallek single to right field in the bottom of the 8th inning, making it 3-0. 

Wisconsin Rapids locked down there first win of the season with a three up, three down bottom of the ninth inning from right hander Layne Henderson.

The Kingfish and Rafters will play game number two tomorrow night at 7:05 CST before Kenosha heads home for the home opener at Historic Simmons Field.
