The bats are hot at Corbett Field as the Hot Tots and Moondogs face off for the final time this season. Last night, Minot upset Mankato using a wild offensive performance. Blake Cavill and Matt Toomey had home runs (Toomey’s being a grand slam) and four players recorded three hit games. However, the Hot Tots still had to sweat that one out, narrowly winning 12-10.
Tonight, the Minot defense will be tested again. Mankato has a very strong offense that tends to force mistakes from their opponents. However, the Hot Tots’ bats will look to help out their defense similarly to the way they did last night. There are a few changes to the lineup for Minot today, but if this group can see the ball as well as they did yesterday, they could be in position for a surprise sweep over the Moondogs.
It’s Video Game Night here at Corbett Field between the Hot Tots and Moondogs. Come to the ballpark or tune into the broadcast on NWL+.
