From start to finish the Border Cats and Bismarck Larks exchanged the lead five times in a game filled with excitement. In the end, the Border Cats fell 7-6 and moved to 0-3 to start the season.

The Border Cats got off to a great start in the first inning going up 2-0 but saw the lead disappear by the third inning. A three run fifth inning once again gave the Cats the lead but it would not last long as the Larks tied the game in the bottom half. In the sixth inning, the Cats once again took back the lead but saw the Larks respond and score what would end up being the decisive run to put the Larks in the lead.

Offensively JQ Folena led the way for the Cats with three of the nine hits. Folena drove in the second run of the first inning and added another RBI in the fifth inning. Jared McCunn continued his strong start of the season with his third RBI and run of the season. Gabriel Lozada showed off his speed in the sixth inning after beating out a close play at first. He then followed it up by advancing to second and then third on a couple passed balls. He finished off his trip around the bases by scoring on a sacrifice fly from Colin Rosenbaum.

The game marked the Border Cats first ever visit to Bismarck after the Larks joined the Northwoods League in the offseason. The Cats will look to win their first game of the season tomorrow night in the final game of the series.
