As the Traverse City Pit Spitters prepare for its inaugural season, the team is asking for the community’s help in adding an exciting and delicious food item to our menu for the 2019 season.

Have you ever had a macaroni and cheese cheeseburger? What about some deep-fried Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups? Well now’s your chance to submit all those unique food combinations that you secretly love, because the Pit Spitters Fan Food Submission is now up and running! We’re asking fans to submit their ideas for what new food item they would like to have at the ballpark this summer!

“We are excited to kick off our inaugural season with the fan food vote!” said Pit Spitters food and beverage manager, Tyler Glynn. “This gives fans the option to submit an out-of-the-park idea that you do not get at other ballparks, and with more cooking capability this season, we are ready to tackle any submission we receive.”

Submissions will be taken through Friday, April 5th. They can be made at pitspitters.com, which will also be available on the Pit Spitters Facebook page, Twitter account and Instagram account. All submissions must be accompanied by a complete description and a picture, if possible.

The ideas will then be whittled down, and starting Monday, April 22nd fans will be able to vote for their choice for the new 2019 concessions item. The winning food item will be announced in May. Voting will take place on the Pit Spitters website, www.pitspitters.com. The winning entry will be on the menu for all fans to enjoy this season. The winning submission will also receive four tickets to a Pit Spitters game and the opportunity to throw out a first pitch during the 2019 season.
