Pit Spitters Fan Food Winner Revealed!
New Feature for Pit Spitters 2024 Ballpark Menu
Traverse City, MI, May 8, 2024- Traverse City, MI – Drumroll, please! The votes have been tallied, and the Pit Spitters are excited to unveil the champion of the 2024 Fan Food Vote. Fans submitted their most mouthwatering recipes, and after an exhilarating round of voting, the winning dish was revealed.
Taking the crown in this year’s Fan Food Vote is the “Sriracha Waffle Chicken Sandwich,” crafted by culinary aficionado Alex Cesal of Traverse City.
“When dreaming up this dish, I wanted to create something that perfectly balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors,” explained Cesal, the mastermind behind the winning creation. “The combination of crispy fried chicken, spicy sriracha infused with honey, and fluffy waffles creates a flavor explosion that I believe fans will absolutely love!”
The Sriracha waffle faced some touch competition emerging victorious, narrowly edging out contenders such as the ‘Batter Up Cheesy Cherry Dippers’ our version of mozzarella sticks with delicious cherry remoulade for dipping and the ‘Great Lakes Coney Dog’, a fusion between a Flint and Detroit coney with a Hawaiian sweet bun, mustard, Detroit chili sauce, cheese sprinkled with Great Lakes pickled jalapeno chips. The level of creativity combined with tradition contributed to a truly tasty list of finalists!
Description of the Winning Item: The Sriracha Waffle Chicken Sandwich features a succulent fried chicken breast coated in a crispy Sriracha-honey infused sauce, sandwiched between two golden-brown waffles. It’s topped with a generous drizzle of spicy sriracha honey and is topped with a pickle. Get ready to experience a flavor explosion with every bite!
In addition to the Sriracha Waffle Chicken Sandwich, the Pit Spitters are thrilled to introduce several new tantalizing additions to the menu for the 2024 season:
- Sizzling Pot Stickers: Delight your taste buds with these savory pot stickers filled with a mouthwatering blend of pork, cabbage, and seasonings, then pan-baked to perfection. Served with a side of tangy soy dipping sauce, it’s a crowd-pleaser that’s sure to leave you craving more!
- Great Lakes Grilled Bratwurst: A mouthwatering bratwurst grilled to perfection and served on a toasted bun, topped with sauerkraut and a dollop of spicy mustard. A nod to Michigan’s rich culinary heritage!
- Cherry Republic Cherry Burger: Our delicious all beef patty smothered with Cherry Republic’s cherry salsa, the perfect sweet and savory creation, that goes great with fries and a Pepsi of course!
Fans can also look forward to an array of offerings from beloved local vendors, including Cherry Republic, Great Lakes Chips, Bonobo Winery and Traverse City Whiskey Co., and many more.
