BRAINERD–For the second consecutive day, the Stingers came away with a masterful, dominating 11-4 win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers on Sunday in the final game Willmar will play at Stewart C. Mills Field this season. The win was the Stingers third straight and puts them above .500 in the second half standings at 7-6 and two games above even in the overall standings at 25-23.

In perhaps his best game of the season, Isaac Ballou accounted for almost half of the Willmar offense on Sunday, registering four hits in six trips to the plate, reaching base each at bat, driving in five runs, scoring once, and stealing his team-leading sixteenth base of the season. Carlos Leyva was also fantastic at the top of the lineup, finishing his day four for five with three singles, a triple, a walk, three runs scored, and a pair of RBIs.

Next up for the Stingers, it’s the finale of a nine game, twelve day road trip in Alexandria on Monday at 6:05 pm.
