THUNDER BAY–A night removed from a 5-3 win, the Stingers dropped the second half of a two game series with the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Saturday night at Port Arthur Stadium by a final score of 7-2. With the loss, the Stingers fall to 34-28 overall and 16-11 in the second half of the 2010 season.

It was a struggle all night for the Stingers offense, as Willmar managed just a handful of hits and two runs in the game. The only two RBI’s for Willmar came courtesy of a Jordan Smith sac fly and a Mitch Delfino RBI groundout and Isaac Ballou was the only Stinger with multiple hits. On the mound, Matt Collins took the loss, going five innings of five run, eight hit ball in his fourth start of the season.

Next up for Willmar, it’s a day off followed by the final homestand of the 2010 season. For tickets call 320-222-2010 or log on to willmarstingers.com for more information. As always, we remind you to check out wctrib.com for all your Stingers coverage. The 2010 season is presented by Charter.
