WATERLOO, Iowa – Corben Green homered in the fifth and seventh innings for five of the Stingers’ six RBIs, but a nine-run fifth by the Bucks was too much for Willmar in a 12-7 loss at Riverfront Stadium Friday night.

In the fifth inning, Green gave the Stingers their only lead of the game with a three-run homer over the right-field fence to put Willmar (21-16) in front, 4-2. The rising line drive over the 15-foot wall scored Forrestt Allday (Central Arkansas), who led off the frame with a single, and Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast), who walked with two outs to extend the inning for Green.

In the seventh, Green (Louisiana Monroe) hit a towering fly ball over the right-field wall for his third home run in the past two days. Green’s second round-tripper of the game scored Suchy from second base to give Green five RBIs in the contest. Green now has four home runs and 19 RBIs in 15 games with the Stingers.

Green also plated the first run of the game when he reached on a wild pitch after striking out to begin the fourth inning and scored on an RBI groundout by Dillon Haupt (San Diego).

Following Green’s first home run, the Stingers led 4-2 entering the bottom of the fifth, but a nine-run frame by the Bucks, which included a three-run homer by Benny Roberts, gave Waterloo (20-17) a commanding 11-4 lead en route to a 12-7 victory.

Andrew Pulido (San Francisco) allowed 10 runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings in his third loss of the year.

Forrestt Allday finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and his league-leading 39th walk of the season. Haupt hit an opposite-field double in the seventh inning to go 1-for-4 on the night.

Willmar will continue its road trip by traveling to Rochester for the first of three games against the Honkers Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
