ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Mitch Rowan’s 4-for-4 performance and a home run by Jack Cleary in his team debut highlighted a night where the Stingers surpassed 12 hits for the second-straight game as part of a 9-4 victory against the Rox at Joe Faber Field Tuesday night.

Willmar (12-9) led for the duration of the game after Forrestt Allday (Central Arkansas) began the contest with a leadoff walk and scored two batters later. The Stingers opened up a 4-0 lead over St. Cloud (5-15) in the third inning after a bases-loaded double by Corben Green (Louisiana Monroe) scored Rowan (San Francisco), Hunter Dozier (Stephen F. Austin) and Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast).

St. Cloud responded with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to make it a one-run contest, 4-3, but Willmar scored in each of the final three frames to pull away for its 12th win in the team’s last 16 games.

The Stingers added two runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Dozier and a sacrifice fly by Suchy to bring home Matt Jackson (Washington) and Zach Benson (Stephen F. Austin), respectively. Suchy finished the game 2-for-2 with a triple and his league-leading 22nd RBI of the year.
