ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Six different Stingers had multi-hit games to lead an offensive surge of 15 hits in a 9-6 victory against St. Cloud Monday night at Joe Faber Field.

J.D. Dorgan (St. Thomas) led the offense with three RBIs in the game, including a two-run triple to deep left-center field in the second inning that gave Willmar a 2-1 lead. The Stingers never trailed the rest of the game. Dorgan scored one batter later on an RBI single by Matt Jackson (Washington). Dorgan finished the game 2-for-4, while Jackson went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

After the Rox tied the game, 3-3, in the bottom of the second, Willmar responded with two runs in the third thanks to an RBI groundout by Jackson and a two-out single by Forrestt Allday (Central Arkansas).

St. Cloud came back in the fifth to tie the game again with two runs on three hits, but Willmar plated runs in each of the next three innings to pull away for good. Mitch Rowan (San Francisco) scored Jackson on a sacrifice fly in the sixth to break the 5-5 tie. In the seventh, Dorgan drove home his fourth run in the past two days with a single to score Corben Green (Louisiana Monroe).

Willmar added two insurance runs in the eighth with two-out RBIs on a double by Green and a base hit by Steven Brault (Regis).

Cage pitched 2-1/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, giving up only one hit and striking out one to earn the victory and improve to 2-1. Josh Biggs (Evansville) surrendered one run in 1-1/3 innings, while Brady Anderson (Florida Gulf Coast) struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to pick up his third save of the year.
