WILLMAR, Minn. – Pat Stover went 4-for-4 and blasted his first home run of the season, but Willmar could not overcome a 6-0 deficit against the St. Cloud River Bats, eventually dropping the game, 6-3, at Bill Taunton Stadium at Baker Field Thursday night.

Trailing 6-0 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, Pat Stover (Santa Clara) blasted a deep home run to left field to give the Stingers their first run of the game. Stover finished the game 4-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Three other Stingers had multi-hit games. Eduardo Gonzalez (Alcorn State), Jake Stinnett (Maryland) and Blake Shepherd (Viterbo) all went 2-for-4 in the game. Gonzalez also had an RBI, while Shepherd scored his 11th run of the season.

Willmar will now play six-straight games on the road, beginning with its third consecutive game against St. Cloud. That game will by played at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, Minn., at 7:05 p.m. Willmar will then play two games at Brainerd and three games at Duluth before returning home next Thursday, July 7, to play the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
