DULUTH–In the final game for the Stingers at Wade Stadium in Duluth, the Stingers came away with a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Duluth Huskies to pull back above the .500 mark on the season. A back and forth contest all the way, the game wasn’t decided until the ninth inning when Willmar rallied for the tying and winning runs.

Who else but All Star Jordan Smith came through when the Stingers needing it most, slapping a two run single to left that got by Duluth leftfielder Pete Capetta to score Isaac Ballou and Mitch Delfino. The hit was Jordan’s third on the night, notching him a three for three for four evening, complete with a triple, a pair of singles, and three RBIs.

Wally Marciel went six strong innings for Willmar, earning a no decision in his fifth start of the year. Jayson Huett earned his third win of 2010, throwing a perfect eighth and two thirds of the ninth before giving way to Jacob Barnes who struck out Duluth slugger Cody Asche on three pitches to notch his sixth save of the season.
